Adding impetus to its commitment to broad-based black economic empowerment, Bytes Communication Systems is pleased to announce that it has secured the status of a level 3 BBBEE contributor, from Empowerdex.

Having secured a score between 75%-85% from Empowerdex, the local industry respected economic empowerment rating agency, Bytes Communication Systems is now officially classified as a level 3 contributor.  This means that customers making use of the company’s services will now be able to claim 137,5% of procurement spend for its own black economic rating.

“Broad based black empowerment is a critical link in the way in which we conduct our business and falls directly in line with our group wide commitment to transformation by way of the Altron Vision 2012 mandate,” says George Isaacson, managing director of Bytes Communication Systems.  “We have worked hard as an organisation and placed a lot of emphasis on securing this rating both internally and externally when selecting suppliers, and to achieve it further cements our role as a responsible corporate South African citizen.”

As per the rating Bytes Communication Systems is looking forward to increasing its procurement opportunities for both itself and its customers, and is now also able to offer its growing arsenal of government customers with the peace of mind that it meets with their own procurement policies.

According to Isaacson the company has diligently ensured that its own suppliers are able to provide proof of the contribution they make towards economic empowerment, has rolled out and developed a results-driven internship programme, offered extensive staff growth and training opportunities, and has made a significant effort to make staff placements in accordance to its transformation objectives.
